The world-renowned ISH fair, which was held in Frankfurt in March, was a must-attend event for industry professionals – which is why we sent Lifestyle Ceramics’ Business Development and Project Manager, Natasha Redfearn, to go see what it was all about. Here are five of the top industry trends she discovered at the fair.
1. Natural shapes:
There is an increasing trend towards using natural shapes and forms in bathroom designs. This includes the use of organic curves, irregular shapes, and freeform designs that reflect the beauty of nature. Products that feature natural shapes and textures were a highlight of the fair, as seen in these beautiful mirrors and textured basins.
2. Bold colours:
Another trend that is gaining popularity in bathroom design is the use of bold colours. This includes vibrant shades such as deep blues, rich greens, and striking reds. These colours add personality and drama to bathroom spaces and can be used in a variety of ways, from feature walls to bold accessories. These colourful taps and basins were especially memorable.
With growing awareness about climate change and the need for sustainable practices, there was a strong focus on eco-friendly products and designs at ISH Germany this year. This includes products that use recycled materials, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainable manufacturing practices. Hansgrohe is a brand that strives to have all products be eco-friendly in the next few years, and we loved seeing their latest ranges at the fair.
As technology continues to advance, we anticipate a growing trend towards digitalisation in the bathroom industry. This includes products that incorporate smart technology, such as touchless taps and smart mirrors, as well as apps and software that allow users to control and monitor their bathroom environment.
The trend towards wellness and self-care is also reflected in the latest bathroom designs. Products that promote relaxation and well-being, such as steam showers, aromatherapy diffusers, and heated towel racks, were in high demand.
The ISH Germany 2023 gave us interesting insight into the latest bathroom trends. We especially loved the emphasis on natural shapes and textures, and are excited to see more use of bold colours in bathroom designs in the near future.
